What to do in the summer holidays

Hello everyone,

For some of you, the summer holidays have already begun. For others, it is approaching and I know everyone is waiting excitedly for it to arrive.

BUT! BUT! BUT! If you are someone who is sitting for your returnee exams this year, this summer holidays hold an entirely different meaning for you.

It is not just a time to relax and de-stress, but also a second chance for you to catch up with schoolwork that you aren’t doing so well in, as well as a headstart for you to start your exam preparation while others are enjoying themselves.

For those of you taking my English returnee classes, I expect you to set aside time for the following:

For every one week of summer holidays, you should

1. write 2 fiction essays & 2 non-fiction essays,
2. learn and remember the meanings of 100 vocabulary words,
3. learn and remember the meanings of 40 phrasal verbs,
4. practice 80 grammar multiple-choice questions, and
5. read and finish 1 story book of your choice.

Well, all study and no play makes Jack a dull boy, so be sure to set aside 1 to 2 hours for play every day and you will be fine.

Hope to see you during our summer intensive course (and our PRE summer intensive course too)!
